Rescue is more than getting a horse out of a horrifying situation. Rescue doesn't end ... Rescue is keeping that horse safe for the rest of their Life.

A few of Our Rescues

Pride

FHES was contacted to take in a horse that was in trouble. He was found standing with his head down, lethargic, slowly starving to death.

At FHES he was put on a nutritional program of soaked hay cubes with vitamins and supplements fed every 6 hours around the clock.

We named him Pride and promised him he would have his self worth and dignity back.

Angel

Angel the day she arrived at FHES.

She was used as a baby machine by the Amish. Her body and legs have permanent scars.

Angel’s heart was broken from having her babies taken away from her over and over again. Time, Patience and Love have helped heal her heart.

With love, quality care, and good nutrition Angel is doing good and enjoying life.

Freedom

Freedom the day she arrived at FHES. She is just 2 years old.

Due to lack of nutrition her leg bones grew longer than her tendons causing her to founder. She was very lame upon arrival.

Although she will never be able to ‘work’ she  is now pasture sound. She needs the best proper nutrition and soft footing for the rest of her life

Ladybug

Ladybug was so lame with founder she could barely stand or walk. But her determination told us to not give up.

Skye and Rainbow

Mother and Daughter locked in a dark shed waiting to be rescued.

Old, sick and obese from no exercise. So fearful of humans, they would try to climb a wall to get away from being touched.

At FHES they were finally able to breathe fresh air, feel the warm sun and know love.

Downy

Raced beyond her body’s ability. Left with a broken ankle and leg that could no longer bear her weight. Thrown away like trash.

They said she was worthless and would never last a month with that bad leg.

At FHES Downy learned to adjust her balance and run like the wind. She proved them all wrong and went on to live 22 yrs at FHES.
