Hay is the horses most important food.  We feed hay year round and purchase it every other week. Our monthly cost ranges from $465.00 to  $930.00 depending on the price per bale which fluctuates. 

Any amount can be put toward the purchase of hay.  Every dollar counts. 

Supplements are fed to ensure nothing is lacking in the horses diet and to address the specific health concerns unique to each horse. 

When us humans have health issues due to injury, disease or as we age, we often are prescribed medications to help us stay mobile, pain free and slow the progression of disease. Supplements are a natural way of doing the same thing for horses.

Kiln dried pine shavings are soft, warm bedding for the horses to sleep on in their stalls. Then the used cleaned shavings are recycled to the paddocks to give the horses soft footing. 

By the bag shavings would cost $1323.00 per month. Instead we have the shavings delivered by the tractor trailer load. The cost figures out to be $450.00 per month, a savings of $873.00 each month!

Our yearly basic veterinary service cost is approximately $2400.00  This includes teeth floating, wellness exams, vaccinations, medications and first aid supplies. This cost can greatly increase with emergencies which we all know happens with horses.

Pride has no teeth to chew hay. He needs special grain and soaked hay cubes to live. $30.00 will buy one bag of grain, or one bag of hay cubes, and feed him for 3 days. 

Horses consume 2-3 times as much water, by weight, as food. Toxins in water can cause serious health issues.

We are installing track systems for the horses. Track systems encourage a horse to move much more than wide open spaces. 

Exercise is extremely important for horses. You can feed them the best nutrition but without proper exercise, their body and mind will suffer. 

We are using metal fence panels for the track systems. Each panel costs $150.00 and every 2 panels will give the horses 12 more feet of track to exercise.
